Revisiting Old Ideas

It’s humbling to view old work you’ve tucked away in some dusty drawer. The work I did when I was in middle school is nowhere near where I am today, and my work twenty years from now will be better than the present offerings.

It’s a good idea to look at your old work. Not for the sake of nostalgia or  a misguided attempt at being deep, but for two reasons: it can remind you of your unfiltered creativity and it can show you what you still struggle with.

It’s useful to check where you’ve come from in writing, but more important is learning from your struggles.
